JOB SUMMARY
Designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.  Utilizes analytical approaches and fact-based information in developing innovation, strategy, and continuous improvements that integrate human, system, material, energy, information, and technology resources.  Develops solutions that are balanced between operational, financial, customer service, employee, and customer considerations.  Participates in Engineering or other company projects.  Interacts with plant & corporate management.  Minimizes downtime, improves productivity and insure product quality of all manufacturing equipment.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials. 10%
Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties. 10%
Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes. 10%
Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 10%
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests. 5%
Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services. 10%
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 15%
Conducts ongoing manufacturing process performance analysis to identify productivity cost and quality improvement opportunities. 15%
Provides training on new processes and procedures that are developed by process management teams. Assists with development of training materials. 10%
Contributes to assigned projects and programs; monitors work flow; reviews and evaluates work products methods and procedures. 5%
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. Ongoing
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Ongoing



EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
ENTRY LEVEL POSITION
0 - 2 years in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of AutoCAD & Production Simulation a plus
Excellent prioritization and project development skills

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Problem solving
Bilingual a plus

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of AutoCAD & Production Simulation a plus
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
Experience working with large data sets
Ability to learn custom systems

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS
Must have outstanding communication skills.  Daily Interactions with Engineers, Engineering Manager, Directors of Engineering, Plant Management, & other Company employees.  Interacts with other process and division personnel and outside vendors on a limited basis.  Must have ability to communicate on a technical level.

DECISION MAKING
Responsible for Engineering support for manufacturing facilities through the application of statistical analysis process enhancements data collection systems and strategic maintenance support. Participates on process management teams to minimize downtime improve productivity and insure product quality of all manufacturing equipment.  Perform initial and ongoing design reviews.  Deliver documentation offering a critical analysis and suggestions for correcting errors.  Identify process deficiencies and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies.  Submit a scope of work for each project that includes budgetary numbers and the goal of each project. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The associate is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.  The associate is occasionally required to stand and walk.  The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.  The noise level in the environment is usually moderate, but does elevate to high when walking through or spending time in the manufacturing environment.  The associate is infrequently required to be in the presence of moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles in the manufacturing environment.
