Amgen is a values-based organization with a powerful sense of shared purpose toward our mission: to serve patients. Within Global Commercial Operations, we provide the capabilities, resources, and rewards of a global enterprise, while maintaining the entrepreneurialism and verve that marked our early days as a biotechnology pioneer. We encourage our team members to have fulfilling and meaningful careers through challenging assignments, career development, and valuable opportunities.

Osteoporosis affects nearly 13 million men and women in the U.S. who are at risk of fracture, but as of 2020 only ~25% of affected individuals are treated despite a growing elderly population. Although osteoporosis has many generic options available, Amgen has emerged as the leader in this therapeutic area with our flagship brand, Prolia, launched in 2010, and our newly-launched asset, EVENITY, launched in 2019. Given Amgen's long-run play in this category, this franchise plays a particularly strategic role in delivering short- and long-term growth for Amgen.

The Marketing Senior Manager will play a meaningful role in the growth trajectory of the Amgen Bone Health franchise. As the health care provider (HCP) digital marketing and ecosystem lead, this individual is responsible for architecting digital strategies that enable brand objectives; building the franchise technology road map; and leading the development of all digital creative assets. Additionally, this individual will manage a sizable media investment that drives return. To that end, this position requires strategic thought, leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to employ a 'customer-first' mentality. This position will also involve the management of staff, including contractors.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Lead overarching digital strategy and execution to meet brand objectives
  • Develop multi-channel communication plans in collaboration with agencies and using internal enterprise data solutions
  • Overall accountability for breakthrough digital creative assets, from brief to launch, including content mapping
  • Develop and employ media channel investment models, measurement plans and tracking systems to assess program potential, success and optimization
  • Build upon the existing technology roadmap, with key partners, to ensure the best possible customer experience
  • Lead annual brand/tactical planning cycles, including identification of innovation and 'test and learn' opportunities
  • Collaborate with other key team members, including IS/IT, Commercial Data and Analytics, digital operations, and peer to peer, to ensure that synergies are captured
  • Manage the internal legal, regulatory, and medical review and approval of new materials
  • Manage budgets and closely monitor performance, ensuring efficient delivery of all programs.
  • Lead several agency relationships, including media and creative agency of record
  • Day to day manager of digital contractors and other staff
  • Domestic travel up to 25%.
