What Will You Do?
As the Marketing Manager, you will be a member of the Marketing team who supports and serves the lawyers. Your primary role will be to provide leadership, strategic guidance and recommendations for the development, implementation and ongoing review of marketing and business development initiatives, plans and programs of an assigned practice group, industry group and office to support Orrick's firm wide business goals and strategies. You will be the primarily support for the MAPE practice which includes the globally-ranked M&A and Private Equity groups.

You will collaborate with the various functional units within the Business Development Department, including the Creative Services and Operations, Communications, and Client Relationship Teams, as well as the various departments and programs within the Firm including the Knowledge Management team, Community Responsibility Program and the Diversity Program to contribute to joint firm-wide initiatives. You will work under the direction of the Global Marketing Director/Technology Sector, and you will manage activities and mentor other members of the team who support the practices.

Your Qualifications:
• You will have a B.A. or B.S degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years marketing or business development experience; Law firm experience strongly preferred
• Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite: word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Excellent writing skills; Applicants may be asked to complete a writing test
• Ability to think strategically, develop tactics and execute
• Strong leadership skills and personal authority which earns respect
• Strong project management skills and a focus on efficiency
• A strong client service approach and team orientation
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to build positive relationships within the firm through quality work and through leadership
• Strong mentoring and supervisory skills
• Thinks creatively and has enthusiasm to perform the job at a high level
• Ability to balance competing needs and prioritize tasks

You will have experience with or have the ability to become proficient in the use of marketing systems and tools including Interaction (CRM Software), Orrick's Mailing List Management; Orrick's Proposal Center and Relevant Marketing Resources therein, such as:
• Client-Matter and Deals Databases
• Enterprise Search
• eReports
• Marketing Administrative Tools suite
• Tikit (Broadcast Email and Event Registrations suite)
