Job Title:           Manufacturing Materials Handling Supervisor 



Department:      S&I Manufacturing              



Reports To:        Director of Manufacturing



FLSA Status:     Exempt         


Employee Type: Full Time



Location:            Monroe, WI



 



Summary:  



Supervises the daily operations of the kitting & send area within the manufacturing plant. Directly supervises employees responsible for moving parts to and from fabrication machines, locating parts into designated storage locations and for packaging multiple parts together in preparation for welding(kitting). 



 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 



 




  •     Organizes, supervises and directs personal engaged in safely and accurately locating parts into designated inventory locations both physically and within the ERP(enterprise resource planning) system. 



 




  •   Responsible for maintaining adequate queue of work in process between the metal fabrication and welding value streams.



 




  •    Directs and coaches the performance of the kitting & send team.



 




  •     Coordinates training of kitting and send staff to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures including safety and compliance with federal, state, and local codes/regulations.



 




  •   Monitors safety, efficiency and quality for the department and actively addresses issues as they arise. 



 




  •   Make sure incoming product is properly labeled before moving to designated storage area and verify quantity and quality of materials received.



 




  •   Maintain cleanliness of inventory locations within scope of position responsibility.

Education/Experience:



Associate or Bachelors degree; five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



 



Language Ability:



Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.



 



Math Ability:



Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



 



Reasoning Ability: 



Ability to solve practical problems and deal a variety of concrete variables in situations.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.



 



Computer Skills: 



Manufacturing Software; Proficient Computer Skills; 



 



Certificates and Licenses:



Forklift license required to operate forklift.



 



Supervisory Responsibilities



Directly supervises 10-20 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work: addressing complaints and solving problems

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the environment is moderate. The employee will be required to work with other employees on a daily basis.

The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
