GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This role will provide leadership, organization and coordination to support McCoy-Rockford's key PM activities and ensure all projects adhere to the best practices and standard approaches for project management. Manage change and promote the continuous improvement of project management related processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and maintain consistent standards and processes for the PM team that will contribute to best practices

• Allocate PM resources and distribute PM work load to ensure balanced workload

• Maintain a system that tracks workload balancing and develop metrics for the PM team

• Liaison between PM's, Design, and Sales

• Provide cost management in allocating project expenses on orders and billings

• Manage department budget

• Participate in cross-functional Operations meetings, discussions, and projects

• Develop successful and strong working relationships with clients and internal team

• Build relationships with key clients and vendors to facilitate growth and participate in local and national organizations that build industry network and knowledge.

• Educate present clients on present service capabilities

• Ensure PM team is fully leveraging technology and available tools

• Create training material and resources for new project managers to ensure successful onboarding

• Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with human resources as appropriate.

• Direct and supervise assigned projects (people, budgets, etc.) for multiple customers. Responsible for:

o Project conception to include attending meetings and preparing labor and material quotes

o Project planning to include site verification, attending construction meetings and truck planning

o Project execution ensuring full installation coordination and resolution of site-specific issues. Ensure appropriate procedures and standards are followed

o Project control by regular site visits and oversight of schedules

o Project close including punch and invoicing

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 7-10 years' experience in a related field

• 5+ years in management role

• Office furniture experience preferred

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; some college preferred

• PMP strongly preferred

OTHER/PREFERRED:

• Proficiency in MS Office required

• Effective written and verbal communication

• Good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills

• Ability to read installation plans and blueprints

• Experience creating, communicating, and implementing project plans

• Experience creating and controlling budgets

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge in one or more areas within chosen discipline

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to multi-task and work with many interruptions

• Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of people
