Our Financial Education team is seeking a Manager of Financial Education and Initiatives to lead staff to better guide and coach Goodwill's many program participants into better financial stability and self-sufficiency through a better understanding of banking basics, budgeting, debt management, investing, critical thinking skills, and credit score literacy. This department providesone on one financial coaching, support with securing and maintaining employment, as well as assistance with tax preparation and filing.This role will be required to train and develop the Financial Education team, develop external partner opportunities and participate in the strategic direction of Goodwill's Workforce Development (WFD) work as a part of our organization'sleadership team.

You must be capable of relating to individuals with barriers to employment, including long periods of unemployment and limited work skills. We handle confidential information in this department, and you must be able to respect the members of our community regardless of where they are in their personal and financial journey. You care about ethics, and must be capable of leading staff members in a team approach.</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversees and ensures that day-to-day operations and budgetare efficiently and effectively planned and managed.</li> <li>Directly supervises, trains and mentor staff; including performance evaluations.</li> <li>Is an active partner on the WFD leadership team, participating in strategy development and direction for the team as a whole.</li> <li>Engages with partners regarding revenue partnerships and program support.</li> <li>Oversees partner agreements with affiliated organizations.</li> <li>Coordinates educational and training programming with internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li>Analyzes data for trends and other insights into program performance in order to ensure programs are achieving goals.</li> <li>Oversees management of client information including entry into Caseworthy and Salesforce.</li> <li>Manages employment/retention services for clients.</li> <li>Track and manage the performance, outcomes, and requirements of key grants and policies.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned by management.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Education and/or Experience:</strong> Associates Degree in business, accounting, social service or similar years experience preferred; tax return preparation and tax law experience required; experience working with persons with barriers to employment is highly preferred. Extensive community knowledge of the non-profit financial education and workforce development landscape in Tacoma a plus.</p> <p><strong>Language Skills:</strong> Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts required; ability to write routine reports and correspondence required; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, clients or employees required. We serve a diverse client base, and a second language is considered a major bonus.</p> <p><strong>Computer Skills:</strong> To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft office. Experience in a CMS is helpful.</p> <p><strong>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:</strong> a validlicense and proof of insurance is required; this position requires occasional travel throughout the community, and may travel out of state for conferences.During tax season, this role is required to work in the evenings to assist clients.</p> <p><em>Our mission is to help people reach their fullest potential through individual education, job placement and career pathway services made possible by community donations, purchases and partnerships.
