Amgen is recruiting for a Manager that will directly support the US Medical Affairs Value & Access (MV&A) teams in executing strategies to engage with healthcare payers, governments and delivery systems.

Reporting to the Head of US Medical Operations, he/she will serve as the single point of accountability for planning & execution of the US Medical Value & Access (MV&A) capabilities' business processes, operations and implementation of strategic plans. The individual will interact with all levels of the organization and will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to approach issues from a strategic perspective. This includes the ability to translate strategy into meaningful, actionable objectives to effectively drive relevant teams, advocate client positions throughout the life cycle of the project and make value-based decisions.

This presents an opportunity for a qualified candidate to develop his/her leadership skills, , demonstrate versatility and learning agility and champion the understanding of (MV&A) throughout the organization.

Responsibilities include:
  • Operational oversight and execution over the AMCP Dossiers, Compendia, ICER and other proactive/public/unsolicited submission fulfillment process in compliance with regulations and company SOPs /guidelines
  • Review, and prioritize technical materials to incorporate into formulary dossiers, medical information letters, slide presentations, compendia submissions etc.
  • Ensure requests are accurately addressed/routed and entered into the database in a timely manner in accordance with appropriate SOPs (standard operating procedures)
  • Ensure compliance with regulations on dissemination of product information
  • Maintain a collection of product information, standardized responses, dossiers, and prescribing information, and assure appropriate distribution of materials
  • Serve as MV&A's SME on Amgen's Medical Information system. Responsible for fulfillment, reporting, and archiving of MV&A specific requests while identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies
  • Manage the collection, analysis and reporting of KPIs, insights and metrics for MV&A organization.
  • Provide strategic planning, operational and logistical support to ensure smooth tactical execution of MV&A activities.
  • Administer MV&A team's budget and resource planning, oversee forecasting of budgets for planning cycles, LEs and LRPs.
  • Partner with department Budget Coordinators to ensure contract and invoice execution.
  • Liaises with medical affairs, legal, regulatory and other groups to ensure appropriate review of technical material
  • Collaborates with key internal stakeholders (within the organization and cross functionally) to drive system and process improvements
  • Responsible for coordination and serve as a liaison between Training and Development team and MV&A team.
  • Maintains and applies knowledge on regulations and codes affecting MV&A.
  • Contributes to the development of MV&A tools, and standard methodologies
  • Lead ad-hoc projects for the MV&A Organization.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs or Value & Access experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs or Value & Access experience

Or

Associate degree and 10 years of Medical Affairs or Value & Access experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Medical Affairs or Value & Access experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in life sciences or MBA
  • 5+ years' experience in biotechnology / pharmaceutical / healthcare industry
  • Project Management, operational and/or technical experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working within a complex process.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, ability to use work process, briefing and spreadsheet software
  • •Experience handling multiple responsibilities, priorities and tasks with minimal direction
  • Proven success in operating in a matrixed or team environment
  • Ability to manage a high-volume of projects simultaneously while consistently delivering quality end-product
  • Experience communicating and collaborating across various parts of an organization (Health Economics, HOPE Field Teams, R&D, Compliance)
  • Experience coordinating teams in a matrix environment
  • Skilled in MS office suite including Excel, Power Point, and Project. Additional experience in Smartsheet platform a plus
