Job Summary:

The Manager, Marketing & Communications is an integral part of the Ad Council's team responsible for creating, crafting and driving communication strategies for more than 30 social good issues and the Ad Council brand each year.

Whether it's setting strategy to amplify and extend our social impact campaigns, managing an Instagram takeover with leading issue experts, pitching and booking stories at top tier outlets like Today and The New York Times, writing speeches and talking points for top industry executives and Ad Council stakeholders or collaborating with our partner PR/social/digital agencies your job will be to identify and manage the right, targeted tactics that can truly surround an issue, reach an audience and make a difference in our world.

This fast-paced position is perfect for someone who has strong written and oral communication skills, is a great project manager, has an appetite for learning the latest in communications trends and is passionate about social change.

The compensation for this position is within the range of be $66,500 $72,000 (based on experience level). The compensation package also includes an annual incentive, comprehensive benefit offerings, and generous paid time off.

What You'll Do:

  • Manages the development and implementation of PR/social media programs designed to extend the reach of a social good issue, including leading brainstorms, drafting plans, and project managing implementation of tactics.
  • Counsels Ad Council campaign managers and clients on public relations, social media and integrated communications strategies
  • Writes and edits press releases, talking points, pitches, speeches, blog posts, and social media posts
  • Identifies, onboards and helps to manage external agencies, vendors and partners for content production, media relations and other types of programs.
  • Researches and develops talking points for brand panels at conferences like Davos, Cannes, and Advertising Week.
  • Drafts and helps manage Ad Council publications and e-newsletters for various audiences.
  • Assists with day-to-day activities such as background research on reporters, issues and potential content partners
  • Mentors/oversees 1 or more assistant managers on individual projects.
  • Various administrative duties including processing SOWs, tracking billings, etc.

What You'll Bring:

  • 4+ years experience in the communications industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills can adjust copy to various audiences/media
  • Social Media savvy experience with the most popular and emerging platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Team player who works well with others
  • Strong computer skills, experience with other MS Office applications
