Description: This position is an extension of the TMC Communication team and responsible for managing the strategic development, planning and implementation of marketing communications programs to achieve marketing and sales objectives for the Canadian market of TMC.  To maintain brand identity, language and promotion of products, and voice of content, this position will manage corporate communications, marketing communications, digital media and tradeshow activities for Canada leveraging programs and assets created by the US team. This position requires a high level of leadership, coordination and cooperation with cross-functional teams.  Partnering with the product management team and the US Marketing Communications team is key in developing sales tools that support the respective product portfolios and initiatives. It is essential that project and department expenses are closely monitored and aligned with budgets.
 
Job Details:
  1. Manages marketing communications needs of the Canadian market.  Reviews US developed assets for pertinence in Canadian market.  Conducts updates\/changes as needed to comply with Health Canada guidelines and French language needs. Responsible for clearing all advertising and promotional content through Advertising and Promotional Review process (MC001)
  2. Manages digital media communications including public website and intranet content for the Canadian market and internal associates. Leverages digital assets like YouTube videos, digital banners, ads and other initiatives to review for use in Canada. Aligns product content on intranet \/ internet and mobile devices. 
  3. Manages tradeshow initiatives and activities. Works closely with US Tradeshow manager to leverage booth space, designs, hardware and initiatives, as well as leverage fulfillment and pull-up banner development to meet needs of Canadian industry shows. Assist in the strategic planning and execution of tradeshows.
  4. Manages corporate communications, internal announcements and memos. Manages media and PR programs including press releases.
  5. Partner with TIS Teams, in particular Product Management, to ensure marketing communication efforts support a broader integrated marketing communications plan.  Communication vehicles include ads, collateral, video\/animation, direct mail and educational tools through a host of media channels to be leveraged from the US library of assets for Canadian market.
  6. Continue progressive expansion of media channels from traditional print to electronic integration.
  7. Ongoing coordination with Regulatory to assure compliance with Health Canada regulations and clinical accuracy of all communication material (printing\/digital) and branding strategies.
  8. Manage expenses and ensure that all marketing communications expenditures stay within the approved budget.
  9. Provide guidelines and training related to marketing communications to marketing associates.
  10. Play an integral role in the planning and execution of TIS sales meetings
  11. Continue to expand knowledge base of current and new product lines, as well as disease states and treatments, to ensure development of highly-effective communication materials
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all TMC Quality Systems requirements. This includes but is not limited to the prompt recognition and forwarding of customer complaints (i.e. adverse events, product performance reports, etc.) to Quality Assurance (QA), and by ensuring all promotional messaging (i.e. branding strategies, product claims, etc.) and materials (i.e. literature) discussed or presented to customers are clinically accurate and adhere to AdvaMed guidelines and TerumoÙs policy on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals.  Provides leadership to organization regarding Compliance using AdvaMed guidelines, Terumo policies as well as Terumo Canada policies.  Maintain strong knowledge of and adherence to regulations regarding promotional material content and control. Follow procedures for good clinical practices and Design Control when participating in new product development and clinical activities. Fully adhere to all applicable Health Canada regulations, international guidelines and TerumoÙs policies at all times.
  13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 
    Working Conditions: 
    1. This position exists in an office environment. Approximately 20% overnight travel is required including occasional weekend travel.
    2. This position is expected to make trips to the US every quarter and as needed to meet live with the US Marketing team and attend quarterly business review meetings.
    3. This position will reside in Canada, be a full member of the Terumo Canada organization and will work closely with the US marketing communication team to leverage and manage existing material for brand and content messaging.
