Overview

This role is to direct global mobility and relocation matters across Discovery. You will actively collaborate with HR Service Center, HR management, talent management, in-house and outside counsel, payroll/Tax and managers on global mobility. Your primary function is Global Mobility strategy development, policy design, process improvements and vendor selection/management. This position is responsible for overseeing vendor relationships with our relocation and travel insurance benefit vendors, immigration, tax and legal counsel, and international relocation allowance and compensation vendors, ensuring the performance of these vendors to provide a customer-focused approach and cost-effective, compliant program administration.



Responsibilities

1. Global mobility strategy development and assignment policy design.
2. Direct all global moblity vendor selection and management.
3. Ensure the Third-Party Vendors and HR Service Center are administering and provide services that are compliant and follow the establish policies and legal requirements.
4. Working with Payroll and Tax to ensure processes are inplace for items like Tax , allowances, etc
5. Understand and be able to provide consultation on aspects of the assignees’ life cycle, from immigration/initiation/orientation and on-going assignment support to repatriation/localization/retirement.
6. Manage the global travel insurance program and the international assignee benefits program.
7. Direct the administration of domestic and international relocation policies and procedures via the Vendors and/or HR Service Center
8. Provide high-level customer-focused consultation and support, build relationships and manage issues through completion.
9. Provide advice and counsel and handle escalations from HR Partners, managers, and employees.
10. Develop strong and effective team relationships with internal business partners, e.g., HR Service Center, HRM, Legal, Finance, Tax, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, etc.
11. Ensure the HR Service Center/Vendors have the tools to provide Compliance and governance duties for internal and external parties, i.e. recordkeeping, tracking, reporting, auditing, escalation of issues to appropriate level for resolution.
12. With the corroboration of the HR Service Center prepare Global Mobility program metrics and strategic reporting analysis including;
• Participate in surveys
• Collect and analyze market data to be able to make program recommendations
• Monitor global mobility plan trends in the marketplace and collaborate with internal business partners on new approaches, trends, process adjustments, and best practices to ensure the Company's plans and programs remain competitive and compliant with applicable regulations.
13. Communicate with vendors regarding plan issues; and ensure adherence to plan document provisions. Oversee third-party relationships.
• Execute policy changes within Discovery and externally with vendors
• With the support of the HR Service Center analyze reimbursement of expense and payments to third party providers including all relocation vendor invoicing
14. Direct the HR Service Center in the maintaining of global mobility Outlook Mailbox, databases, tracking spreadsheets, and keeping SAP up to date
15. To stay current on trends etc. will need to participate in and attend meetings and seminars on Global Mobility and other related topics.
16. Perform other related duties as required and assigned



Qualifications

* Must possess a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in International/HR, Global Mobility, and/or performing a role substantially like the essential functions of this job description
* Bachelor’s degree - Masters a plus.
* Capable to work in a multi-cultural and virtual, global environment
* Requires effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
* Able to work collaboratively with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with multiple departments to effectively meet objectives in a timely manner
* Experience in Vendor selection and Vendor Management
* Adept at identifying, prioritizing, and managing important tasks/issues with accuracy and focusing on detail. Adept at simultaneously balancing numerous administrative tasks and projects
* Fluency in language in addition to English a plus
* Ability to manage multiple projects
* Ability to identify key barriers and core problems, & develop solutions
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
