About the position:

The Manager, Corporate Action Platform is a new role focused on providing overall project management support to the Corporate Leadership team and managing and expanding JFFs community of corporate leaders committed to adopting talent practices that benefit their workers as well as their business. The Manager will report directly to the Deputy Director, Corporate Leadership at JFFLabs.

The Manager will be an integral part of the Corporate Leadership team at JFF, working closely with team members to take our corporate community to the next level. This role will manage and develop engagement offerings for our Corporate Action Platform, a community of F500 companies that are envisioning, developing, and implementing practices that drive the economic advancement of workers. The Manager will also play a key role working externally with nonprofit partners to further grow and nurture JFFs relationships with others working toward the same impact goals.

The goals for our work are ambitious. The team environment is creative, impact-oriented, generative, and highly-collaborative. We are builders and innovators, driving progress in a unique environment that is part start-up, part traditional nonprofit that continues to evolve with the needs of the economy and the people we serve. The Manager plays an important role in this environment and is helping to build something starting from the ground level. The position therefore requires a dynamic, agile leader who is comfortable across a wide variety of responsibilities.

What youll do:

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Community Growth & Experience: Over the past year, we have had significant interest in the Corporate Action Platform and have built a strong, initial community of leaders that want to continue to engage with us and each other. We believe this is just the start, and are looking for a Manager that is excited by the prospect of growing and nurturing this community into the future, providing meaningful experiences that keep corporate leaders coming back for more
  • Project Management: Manage a variety of internal- and external-facing projects. Some projects are with small teams, while others may engage larger teams of people who are from both inside and outside of our organization. In many cases, you may be the externally facing leader on a project, and must be comfortable managing the internal team and external partner/client toward a set of outcomes and deliverables
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong external relationships and partnerships with leaders in our field. Help to devise and support a partnership strategy
  • Meeting and Event Management: Support the team with the development of a range of meetings, workshops, and collaborative/consultative sessions with prospects, clients, and other external stakeholders
  • Business Development: Support fundraising efforts for the Corporate Action Platform through management of the pipeline, proposal development support and tracking the overall business development process flow

  • You have top-notch operational and problem solving abilities. You are able to take a complex set of inputs and turn them into clear, actionable workplans that will deliver results
  • You are a great communicator. Both your verbal and written capabilities are tightly honed; you can clearly frame and share information to the designated audience in a clear and compelling way that achieves the outcomes required
  • You are strategic. You understand how decisions get made, you can take in multiple inputs at the same time, and you evaluate what choices are on the table in order to take action and chart a path forward
  • You are an experienced project manager, who is able to juggle complex projects and leadership styles with grace and precision, managing them from inception through execution.
  • You have demonstrated entrepreneurial ability and are enthusiastic about exploring and testing new possibilities. You thrive in a start-up environment and are an agile problem-solver
  • You have 5+ years of relevant experience, working in one or more of the following fields/areas of focus: corporate talent management, learning and development, corporate social responsibility, workforce development, education, economic opportunity, management consulting, or nonprofit/corporate partnerships

Cross-sector experience

  • You have direct experience working with F500 companies or within the private sector, with exposure to executive-level decision-makers, CSR leaders, and/or HR leaders and managers

  • You possess high energy and passion for JFFs mission, the work of JFFLabs, and our private sector strategy. You have direct experience and nuanced knowledge of the issues of economic opportunity and/or workforce development
  • You believe deeply in the power of the private sector to drive positive change in society. You have a demonstrated ability to influence companies to shift strategies and practices that drive positive change
