Amgen is seeking a Business Performance Manager within the Global Commercial Operations Functional Transformation Office (GCO-FTO) at our corporate campus located in Thousand Oaks, California.The Business Performance Manager will report to the Director of Transformation Portfolio of the US business within the Global Commercial Operations Functional Transformation office.

The GCO-FTO is focused on improved business performance, target achievement and innovation initiatives that are key to Amgen's current and future performance. The Manager will execute, and provide liaison support, for US Commercial projects that drive improvement within the organization and enable it to adapt to business challenges. The Manager will support transformation efforts to ensure they implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities of the Manager will include:
  • Apply best-in-class project and change management capabilities to both project planning and execution
  • Leverage expertise in multiple project management disciplines, including waterfall, agile, design-thinking, and behavior change methodologies to deliver business impact for specific brands within the US business as well as business-wide projects
  • Support teams in driving innovative and transformational thinking, fair process, escalation of issues, and creating high quality deliverables
  • Provides project level support to design appropriate metrics and measures to track project success, long-term sustainability of improvements, and business impact
  • Supports the Director with facilitation of portfolio-level processes, including idea generation to ensure a pipeline of ongoing projects and pending ideas to align with short and long-term targets
  • Provides tracking and reporting of project status as agreed upon by the USBO senior leadership team for portfolio role up and review in addition to functional tracking as deemed necessary
  • Basic Qualifications:

    Doctorate degree

    OR

    Master's degree & 2 years of Project Management, Change Management and/or Commercial experience

    OR

    Bachelor's degree & 4 years of Project Management, Change Management and/or Commercial experience

    OR

    Associate's degree & 10 years of Project Management, Change Management and/or Commercial experience

    OR

    High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Project Management, Change Management and/or Commercial experience

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years' of experience in B iotechnology / Pharmaceutical industry
  • 3+ years' of change management and communication planning and execution experience
  • 3+ years' of cross-functional consulting and/or project management experience
  • Experience presenting to Senior Executives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to storyline and prepare executive-level discussion documents
  • Excellent conceptual problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
  • A demonstrated ability to work with and influence different internal customer archetypes
  • Experience as a member of a high performing team
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
