Key job responsibilities


Under direction, the loan documentation specialist is responsible facilitating the loan documentation process by evaluating, analyzing, and preparing loan documentation packages in accordance with FCW polices and applicable legal requirements.



  • Receives and tracks loan files. Recognizes discrepancies in instructions and noncompliance with policies and procedures, and respond appropriately. Requests clarification and supporting documentation from loan officers, appraisers, and credit staff as needed.

  • Prepares legal documentation according to loan request and approval for complex loans, with general direction.

  • Coordinates with loan officers, branch staff, and legal staff as appropriate to ensure documents are properly executed, recorded, and completed.

  • Updates and maintains loan documentation pipeline with appropriate tracking tools.

  • Reviews loan files for completeness, including loan approvals, title reports, appraisals, applications, and legal entity documentation. Request missing information as needed.

  • Responds to inquiries and provides information to branch staff and accounting.



 


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities



  • Knowledge of legal requirements for documenting loans secured by real and personal property.

  • Understanding of title insurance practices and procedures.

  • Solid interpersonal, collaboration, communication, team building, problem solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications and accounting or documentation software.

  • Adapts to changes, delays, or unexpected events in the work environment.

  • Read, write, and present general business information. Ability to recognize potential problems and strong attention to detail.



 


Minimum Qualifications


High school diploma, plus at least two years of post-high school education, or equivalent and at least five years of experience documenting mortgage and/or commercial loans, and/or escrow experience.
