Eastern Washington University (EWU) and the Department of Occupational Therapy invite applications from qualified occupational therapists to serve as a full-time Lecturer. Preferable start date will begin August 16, 2020. This would be for a standard 9-month core faculty appointment; the academic calendar typically runs from mid-August to mid-May. There may also be opportunities for supplemental summer teaching in anatomy and/or biomechanics. The department is housed in the College of Health Science based on the EWU Spokane campus. The college and department prepare students to help meet the growing market demand in the critical fields of health care and education. The College of Health Science is home to several nationally accredited undergraduate and graduate programs with an increased focus on inter-professional education (IPE).

The full-time Lecturer position will carry a 100% teaching as outlined in the University Collective Bargaining Agreement. Current teaching needs are in the areas of physical dysfunction, geriatrics, mental health, program development, leadership, and/or health and wellness.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT or MSOT)
  • Post-professional OTD. Someone in process toward their post-professional OTD will be considered; however, all requirements for the OTD must be completed by May 2023.
  • Established record, or evidence of strong potential, of successful teaching of graduate students and clinical experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Geriatrics
    • Mental Health
    • Pediatrics
    • Assistive Technology
    • Physical Disabilities
  • Eligible for Washington state Occupational Therapy licensure
  • Evidence of ability to engage in productive, respectful, collegial relationships with students, faculty and staff
  • Demonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred MOT or DrOT
  • Desire and ability to promote and support cultural competence
  • Readiness to work closely with students and faculty colleagues in community engagement and service-learning initiatives
