What you will do? As the IT Training Coordinator, you will support the IT Training Department by assisting in the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), creating and maintaining a global training calendar, and assisting in the design and development of print and online courseware and other training materials. The IT Training Coordinator will be expected to understand the firm technologies to an advanced level, and act as liaison between IT and end users, often working closely with the IT staff in the practice offices, as well as Subject Matter Experts in the practice offices, and other project teams. After the onboarding period, the IT Training Coordinator may conduct end user training.

  • Add and validate LMS data, run reports and suggest action steps based on the results.
  • Provide secondary remote support to lawyers and staff on training questions.

  • Create and maintain the global training calendar, coordinating facilitators and backups across time zones, and ensuring a rotating schedule of classes.

  • Develop advanced knowledge of all core applications; and develop an overview understanding of additional applications as used in the legal environment.

  • Review and edit technical documentation and communications from other teams, and translate into easily understood instructions.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of training on firm-wide software. Includes Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), as well as specialized legal software and the firm's internet technologies.

  • Work with local HR, IT and Recruiting to ensure that all new-hires receive the training materials and have the appropriate training plan (New Hire Orientation, and Curricula) in place upon their arrival.

  • Collaborate with project teams to assist in the evaluation and testing of new and upgraded applications.

  • Provide feedback and report to the Director of IT Training concerning any training problems, user evaluations and areas for training program improvements identified during training and support.

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and multitask assignments, and to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation.

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a professional environment.

  • Some travel (up to 10%) in support of training initiatives may be required. If the candidate does not reside in the immediate area of the Global Operations Center (GOC) in Wheeling, WV, candidate may be required to travel to the GOC 8-15 times per year for projects.

Job Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree from recognized college or university preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Two to five years of related experience or training required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with other applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Nuance PDF, Forte, DocX, One Note and a DMS (Document Management System) preferred.
  • Experience with an LMS preferred.
  • Experience with e-authoring tools such as Captivate, Camtasia or Storyline preferred.
  • Experience with virtual collaboration technologies such as Webex preferred.
  • Experience with audio and video recording, editing and production a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently with excellent judgment.
  • Excellent diplomacy skills required.
  • Public speaking or customer relations experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical documentation.

  • Ability to write basic reports, business correspondence and technical documentation.
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate information to management and other Firm personnel.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization and/or specific direction exists.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work hours as necessary to meet the business requirements of the Firm.
