Orrick currently has an exciting opportunity located in the San Francisco office for a Human Resources Specialist. You will work directly with the Firmwide Human Resources management team and provide support for local, regional and firmwide HR needs.

This HR Specialist role is an exciting position for someone who has proven HR experience, connects with people, and is a multi-tasker extraordinaire. Every single day will be different. Here are just a few of the types of tasks and responsibilities of this role:

Recruiting: You will manage the staff recruiting process including setting up staff candidate interviews across the US, screening applicants, building orientation schedules, providing onboarding for new employees and maintaining the applicant data.
Employee Contact: In this role, you will become a trusted go-to person for others within the firm. You will answer questions ranging from benefits, to leaves of absence, to workplace concerns. You will help in identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
The Big Stuff: You will assist with the rollout of HR initiatives including surveys, employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and new technology platforms.
The Fun Stuff: Assisting with the planning of employee events in your local office, building strong relationships with others across the firm, getting creative, and looking for opportunities to improve our HR brand.
Other Important Stuff: Responsible for handling the daily admin tasks for the firmwide HR team which might include coordinating meetings across the globe, making travel arrangements, preparing correspondence and materials, and submitting expense and check requests.

If you wish to be considered, you will have

• 3-5 years of HR experience with a minimum of 2 years recruiting experience. An undergrad degree or equivalent work experience; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Experience in a professional services environment is advantageous; especially shown success in a client-facing role.
• PHR certification preferred.
• Strong administrative/tech skills with proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
• Experience with applicant tracking databases preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills and very strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, show a flexible approach to problem-solving, and demonstrate a highly composed and poised demeanor in all interactions and communications.
• Self-motivated, highly conscientious and able to work successfully both autonomously and in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under deadline pressure in a dynamic, changing environment.
• Available to work overtime as needed, including for after-hours events, projects and/or during busy periods.
