Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Representative II is responsible for supporting various areas of human resources department at a Corporate level.  Answers general human resources related questions, performs process activities, and contributes to projects and initiatives regarding policies, procedures, programs, and employee record information.

 

  • Provide support to assigned client groups
  • Provide excellent customer services and promote positive employee interactions, and be actively involved in resolving issues and concerns
  • Conduct or support new hire orientation classes
  • Conduct or support benefit orientation
  • Process employment eligibility verification through E-Verify
  • Perform all or portions of new hire and ongoing background check processes
  • Process and maintain employee data changes in HRIS system, including but not limited to; new hire information, personnel changes, compensation changes, organization structure changes, and benefit changes.
  • Review missed benefit deductions and set repayment plans for employees
  • Respond to inquiries through the shared services forums (verbal and written communications), and appropriately distribute inquiries requiring support from other HR team members.
  • May provide research, documentation and other support to HR Management for employee relations
  • May provide support to HR Management for disciplinary actions, terminations, training, and/or follow-up activities and ensuring consistency and adherence with company policy.
  • Perform other incidentals and related duties as required and assigned, including but not limited to; general office clerical administrative duties, occasional signing in guests, and process documentation.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of core HR functional areas such as benefits, recruiting, pre-employment background/drug screening, and new hire onboarding, and awareness of applicable employment laws affecting these areas.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt to changing and fast pace environment
  • Ability to consistently work independently to complete high volume of activities and apply good judgment to effectively prioritize daily tasks and duties to deliver on-time high quality results
  • Keen attention to detail; strong data entry skills with speed and accuracy
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, and diplomacy skills in dealing with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work both successfully independently and as a team member
  • Demonstrated basic to intermediate proficiency in Excel. Must have strong navigation and basic commands mastered, ability to build formulas (such as vlookups and if/then), as well as pivot tables is desired), Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Word (must be able to set-up, edit and run a wide variety of merge files and build templates)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Outlook and PowerPoint applications
  • Learns and adapts quickly to new requirements and changes
  • Dependability and reliability is a must for this position
  • Work full-time schedule and maintain great attendance; which is critical to the team and department’s ability to meet business needs

Physical Requirements
Job is in a busy standard office environment with moderate noise level, sits at a desk during scheduled shift, uses office phone system; views a computer monitor, types on a keyboard and uses a mouse. Reads and comprehends information in electronic (computer) or paper form (written/printed).
* Sit/stand 8 or more hours per day; walks/moves around buildings as needed to perform job; reach as needed to use office equipment.
* Consistently viewing a computer screen, typing, using a keyboard and mouse.
* Uses phone; head-set can be provided.
* Occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 10lbs.
 
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an office/administrative environment
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a large employee base is preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • HR Certification or some college level courses preferred but not required

Other Requirements

* Must submit to and pass background check and drug screen.

* Must not have any Federal or State liens resulting from County, State or Federal tax issues.

* Must not have any current defaulted student loans.

* Must be able to pass a criminal background check (must not have any felony convictions or specific misdemeanors).

* Performant is a government contractor (certain client assignments for this position may require additional background and/or clearances).
