AFT is seeking a Human Resources Manager that can partner with senior management to facilitate the growth of the organization. AFT has grown staff by more than 50% in the past year and is set to do that again in the current fiscal year. We would like to expand the human resources function to include someone with a working knowledge of inclusion efforts that is also an experienced business partner for organization growth. AFT utilizes an HRIS system, Paylocity, to facilitate many HR processes. The position will be hosted in the national office of American Farmland Trust in Washington, D.C. and the Human Resources Manager will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate will be innovative, detail-orientated, and vision driven.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing various human resource functions and programs for AFT.

Create a strategic plan for diversity & inclusion efforts and hiring & retention.

Responsible for developing personnel policies, procedures, and practices.

Collaborate with senior management to help ensure human resource programs are aligned with the short and long-term organizational objectives.

Coordinate activities of human resources staff, delegating tasks relating to employment, compensation and employee relations.

Collaborate with department managers to establish performance evaluation and improvement processes.

Develop plans to increase engagement in order to improve job satisfaction.

Launch wellness plans to reduce stress, build camaraderie and increase productivity

Update companys job descriptions as necessary and develop salary ranges.

Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures; redesign and maintain updated employee handbook.

Maintain a working knowledge of employment-related laws, and assured compliance with state and federal regulations.

Assist in employee transition procedures.

Provide support and direction in areas such as compensation, benefits, recruiting, compliance, employee relation, organizational development and other general areas of human resources.

Other duties as assigned.
