The Global Travel Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Global Travel, Expense and Corporate Card.

Overview:

o Lead Amgen's Global Travel Program with a continuous improvement mindset to optimize user experience, cost and compliance.

o Manage the travel agency including all operational issues, SLA's, management reporting systems, and adherence to policy.

o Work closely with travel agency to identify, track and resolve any service-related issues with a solution orientated and agile approach, implementing necessary corrective measures and adjusting program as needed to reach high level of customer satisfaction.

o Develop, implement and execute on travel-related (air, hotel, ground transportation etc.) supplier management strategies to optimize the travel program's cost, quality and service levels.

o Monitor and report on travel expenditure and expense related policy compliance. Develop reports and dashboards for the various audiences (executive, sourcing leadership, users). Recommend strategies to improve program compliance, and optimize program cost and end-user experience.

o Identify savings opportunities and service enhancements, initiate process improvements and deployment of benchmarking-generated standard methodologies.

o Lead change management associated with the program modification including implementation, communications and training.

o Maintain, and administer Global Travel Policy allowing for cultural and regional differences with cross functional coordination as needed.

o Evaluate, recommend, and drive the implementation of new technology, processes, tools or policies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the travel process. Benchmarking external organizations for standard methodologies and to measure internal performance.

o Ability to work on sourcing related projects to support the needs of the global program

o Develop and sustain global relationships with key stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree & 2 years of project, travel, or meetings experience

OR

Bachelor's degree & 4 years of project, travel, or meetings experience

OR

Associate's degree & 10 years of project, travel, or meetings experience

OR

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of project, travel, or meetings experience

Preferred Qualifications:

o Proven experience as corporate travel manager

o User experience oriented with focus on simplification and process improvement

o Ability to motivate people and instill ownership, reliability, teamwork, and commitment in the team

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o Excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills

o Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with different teams and peers in the organization

o Excellent analytical skill with strong business and financial acumen

o Strong appetite for constant learning, thinking out of the box, questioning the problems and options with the intent to understand and develop optimal solution

o Deep understanding of the travel industry and maintain current on industry trends and development

o Concur Travel and Expense experience is highly preferred

o Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies

o High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and presentation to small and large audience

o International travel is required; able to travel 15% of work time.
