This position oversees the annual preparation of 500+ Rotary members and their spouse/partners to assume a one-year leadership role (district governors) in their region, throughout the world. The supervisors portfolio includes curriculum development, member support, and evaluation for about 20 annual regional training events (GNTS/GETS) and an annual two-week event (International Assembly), which includes the addition of logistical and onsite event support, as district governors come together for their final preparation before assuming their role. This position supervises two learning specialist employees.


You Will Have

  • Minimum four years of curriculum development and implementation experience

  • Two years meeting/seminar planning experience

  • Supervisory experience

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Comfort working with high-level member and staff leadership

  • Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft software

  • Virtual meetings, webinar and e-learning software experience

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English)

  • Ability to work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, information-driven environment

  • Analytical aptitude, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • The ability to travel to support learning events 1-2 times annually and commit to up to two-week onsite assignments

You Will Be Responsible For

Curriculum Development & Evaluation

  • You are responsible for developing the curriculum and contributing to the overall program for Rotarys premier leadership development program. The main participants of the leadership development program are incoming leaders (district governors) that will assume their one-year role in their local region (500+ leaders from around the world).

  • Contribute to several program planning meetings with Rotarys senior leadership as the program is developed, and other meetings as assigned.

  • To accomplish this, you must:

    • Work with internal subject matter experts to create, review, and edit written materials, including leaders guides and participant workbooks.

    • Collaborate with Rotarys meeting planning team to coordinate logistical details, including food and beverage, simultaneous interpretation services, signage, audiovisual services, and meeting room setups.

    • Research and monitor board decisions, in relation to program content.

  • You will be responsible for creating, distributing, and analyzing the overall program evaluation and other survey methods in order to monitor the effectiveness of program content and communication materials. In addition, you will create final reports and distribute them to relevant individuals and committees.


Member Support & Communication

  • You are the primary contact for trainers appointed to lead sessions at Rotarys annual learning event (International Assembly). You will develop and implement a communication plan that includes emails, online resources, and webinars. You will communicate status updates and important information to trainers, as well as provide individualized communication and support before and during the assembly.

  • You are responsible for writing, editing, and distributing communications from senior Rotary leaders in preparation for GETS and the International Assembly.


Onsite Program Support

  • You will oversee the district governors program, including logistical support, and contribute the to the train-the-trainer program onsite at the International Assembly event for two weeks annually.

  • Additional travel to one regional training meeting to observe and support may be included annually


Supervisory Activities

  • Coach, develop and provide feedback to two direct reports

  • Oversee programs and tasks of two learning specialist

  • Review, edit and provide feedback on all materials created by the learning specialists on your team


Other duties as assigned

  • Other duties may include, but are not limited to, working with relevant staff to produce an event mobile app; developing e-learning modules; budgeting and expense tracking; and working on special projects.
