    Sodexo Schools Division is seeking dynamic, self-motivated, solutions/results driven Food Services General Manager 3 for Ferndale School District located in Ferndale, WA. Ferndale is located 10 miles north of Bellingham, 100 miles north of Seattle and 40 miles south of Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Mount Baker and the Georgia Strait’s San Juan Islands make this an area of unparalleled natural beauty.  Ferndale offers access to a variety of recreational entertainment, social and cultural pursuits. 

    Our General Manager will have operational and financial over-site for the food and nutrition department within a district that is comprised of 10 schools and 4,700 students.  

     

    The ideal candidate will be well versed in K-12 food service operations, food and labor cost controls, while also having proven success in driving customer results. Prior new unit opening experience preferred. The ability to articulate ideas, thoughts, opinions, professionally and clearly within all levels of the organization is critical. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to:

    • Integrate fully within our client's organization becoming a trusted adviser and member of the accounts leadership team
    • Achieve continuous improvement in customer and client satisfaction scores
    • Create an exceptional student experience through marketing, menu design, and excellent food quality
    • Meeting (or exceeding) Sodexo standards of operations (Gold Check)

    Position Summary

    Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate’s degree with academic major in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field

    Basic Management Experience - 3 years

    Basic Functional Experience - 4 years of relevant school nutrition programs experience
