    Sodexo’s Government Services North America is seeking a General Manager 3 of food service for a high profile Government dining account at the San Jose Job Corp.

    San Jose Job Corps Center provides a no-cost education and career technical training program that teaches eligible young people ages 16 to 24 the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education.

    The General Manager 3 will lead our Sodexo team providing high quality meals and service to Job Corp students, faculty and staff. The best qualified GM will involve themselves in the campus community and build strong client, staff and student relationships.

    San Jose Job Corps operates 365 days per year, serving 19 meals per week, and continental breakfast on the weekends.  We service 350-400 students, residents and non-residents.  The unit has 2 hourly supervisors and this position will have oversight for a staff of 12.

    We are looking for candidates who will:

    • have oversight of day-to-day operations;
    • deliver high quality food service;
    • achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
    • create a positive environment;
    • ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

    The ideal candidate:

    • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
    • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
    • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed;

    Position Summary

    Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account
    Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 3 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
