    Sodexo has an opportunity for a General Manager 3 for HopeWest located in Grand Junction, CO. Relocation Assistance is available! 

     

    Spoons is an award-winning venture recognized locally and on Trip Advisor and Yelp.   These ventures are not only unique because they are operated on the campus of a Hospice, but because they strive to provide a unique offering in the community including a menu of local products and partnerships, a wine tasting room and gift retail.  They also are unique in their customers, who consist not only of staff members and patients’ family members, but community members who are donors, volunteers and partners.

     

    The overall dollar volume is relatively small, but the complexity significant as each business unit requires “ownership” and unique financial modeling and creativity in business development and customer engagement for success.

     

    This is a 7-day/week operation that requires infrastructure, well developed systems and effective delegation to other leaders to assure integrity when the GM is not present.

     

    There is also a unique partnership with the leadership of HopeWest who own the business units and have goals they hope to achieve for each.  They also provide the marketing and support required to build the businesses.

     

    The General Manager is responsible for adhering to and promoting integrity between HopeWest and Sodexo, meeting the Health Department’s regulations, and Sodexo’s standards and expectations of food quality, freshness and presentation. 

     

    This position oversees the daily administrative and operational tasks, including financial management and analysis, sanitation and safety.  This position also motivates, trains, develops and directs all employees to accomplish the objectives of the operation to the satisfaction of the customers.  The individual will build staff loyalty and ownership in the success of the operations and an effective, collegial relationship with the leadership of HopeWest.

     

     

    The ideal candidate:

    • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
    • has culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
    • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
    • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
    • The General Manager will be experienced in not only restaurant management, but have culinary knowledge and passion for the restaurant business as displayed by current reading, restaurant exploration, and a dedication to incremental improvement.
    • Must have a passion for people and the development of people, with the ability to effectively teach, organize work effectively and support staff.
    • Must have a dedication to customer experience that is superior, and the ability to “write the last chapter” effectively when service recovery is required.
