    Food Service Manager 2 opening in Ewing, NJ!
    The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) is a large public coeducational university that that features a high-volume resident dining operation serving breakfast, lunch, dinner seven days a week (total unit volume is $8M annually).  The Atrium at Eickhoff boasts 10 micro-restaurants that serve everything from brick-oven pizza to rotisserie fillet of salmon. Its innovative and award-winning design allows you to create a completely custom meal every day at most micro-restaurants, one of the many reasons the facility won Food Management magazine’s 2011 award for Best Renovation. Reporting to the Director of Food Service Operations, this manager will have a rotational responsibility covering breakfast/lunch/dinner within the resident dining hall.  Flexible schedule required (Dining operations is open 7 days a week).  Union experience is a plus.  Candidate must be computer literate, familiar with food management systems, proper dining service standards and labor management is a plus.  Also responsible for monthly training and scheduling of direct report staff in areas of Food and Occupational Safety.  Strong client and customer skills are essential.  Fundamental culinary knowledge and ability to train in this area strongly desired.  Position will work alongside a large management team and will have oversight for a large front-line employee base.
    The best qualified candidate will have the following: 
    • College/University food service management experience;
    • Experience training and leading a food service hourly staff;
    • Experience with service standards and customer interaction skills;
    • Fundamental culinary knowledge;
    • Experience with food safety/HACCP regulations;
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow through on all assigned projects/tasks.

    Position Summary

    Provides supervision for multi-functional food service areas at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company.  Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of Sodexo programs while executing against Standard Operating Procedures.
    Key Duties
    - Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations
    - Establishes and maintains a safe work environment
    - Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards
    - Utilizes Sodexo resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory
    - Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement



    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent     

    Basic Management Experience - 1 year
