    This Food Operations Manager 2 provides operational leadership for HealthEast at St. Josephs and Bethesda Hospitals. This position works closely with the Leadership of Fairview/HealthEast and Sodexo to create the strategic plans for the food service departments that align with Fairview's Mission,Vision and Values. This leader will work closely with his teams and the leaders at Fairview to set the expectations for each manager that allows us to achieve at a high level. Operationally this position will oversee and be responsible for the daily activities of the St. Josephs and Bethesda campus as well as developing the retail, patient and culinary direction for the East Region.The Operation's Manager will partner and work closely with the Clinical Nutrition Program to insure we are driving innovation that exceeds the Health and Wellness criteria for the system as well as working with the Retail and Culinary Solutions teams to achieve their goals.  This Operations Manager will report to the General Manager for Sodexo and the System Director of Support Services for Fairview while working collaboratively with the other leaders in the South, East and North regions, to build a program with standards that can be recognized throughout the System.   

     

    The best qualified Food Operations Manager candidate has solid food service experience, is professional with a collaborative mindset, commitment to operational excellence standards, a willingness to coach and develop staff, openness to change and attentive with a responsive communication style that will encourage success in this position. 

     

    Technical skills will include high levels of proficiency with data analysis, Microsoft Office, menu planning & forecasting processes, and understanding of safe food handling practices, qualities, and standards (e.g. HACCP forms, temperature logs, safety audits, inventory management, etc.)  Additionally, the Food Operation's Manager will appreciate the importance of partnering with hospital leaders and employees in other departments to exceed expectations of patients and guests.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Position Summary

    Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
    Key Duties
    - Establishes a safe work environment

    - Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

    - Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

    - Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

    - Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

    - Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies
     

     

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
