Position Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the implementation, configuration, monitoring and ongoing support of 3rd party technology solutions and their supporting subsystems. Solutions will be installed, configured, integrated and customized in accordance with architecture best practices to ensure proper data/system flows. Customizations, process automation and data movement efforts will utilize an enterprise scheduling system, advanced scripting techniques, SSIS development and/or Windows based programming languages. Works with teammates to specify requirements, elaborate on work efforts, and create a better understanding of project value and priority. Provide support for the timely resolution of production issues which can extend outside of normal business hours. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, coordinate, configure and install highly secure and scalable server based applications across multiple environments (ex. Development, Test, Production and Disaster Recovery) and in accordance with industry best practices and internal change management standards. Coordinate upgrades and patches with other technology teams and business owners.
  • Utilize advanced scripting techniques and/or current Windows based programming languages to automate processes or enhance/customize third party software that is supported by the team.
  • Manage data movement for supported systems by leveraging an enterprise scheduling system, advanced scripting techniques and SSIS development.
  • Collaborate with both functional and cross-functional teams to define and design new system requirements or opportunities for automation.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies to expand functional and operational capabilities when needed.
  • Develop and execute automated test plans to ensure compliance with requirements, usability, performance and reliability.
  • Monitor key enterprise systems to enhance system performance and avoid service interruptions. This includes building alerts and notifications from system events as well as providing support (both during normal hours and after hours) for any triggered alerts.
  • Document procedures for installation, upgrades, customizations, system flows and data flows. Assist leader by providing design expertise for system upgrades and integrations.
  • Work with vendors and employees to resolve 3rd level technical issues.

    Additional functions of the position may include:

      JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 

      Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in management information system, computer science or related field. Five or more years of experience implementing, configuring, automating and monitoring enterprise systems (e.g. Customer Relationship Management Systems, Records Management and Financial Systems). Two or more years of experience utilizing advanced scripting techniques or developing applications. Two or more years of experience utilizing SQL to retrieve and/or update data. Ability to lead and facilitate team collaboration and perform duties under general direction. Technical certifications such as Microsoft’s MCSD, MCSA and MCSE are a plus. 

      • Extensive knowledge of complex Windows Server configurations, architecture, and high availability options. Demonstrated knowledge of SQL server and SQL query writing and custom scripting
      • Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise class systems which may include Records Management Systems, Enterprise Financial Management Systems, Customer Relationship Systems, Windows Clustering, File Servers, IIS, and Microsoft SQL Server.
      • Knowledge of Microsoft .Net development tools to support customization and integration with Records Management Systems, Enterprise Financial Management Systems or Customer Relationship System.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of the SQL language to retrieve, update/manage data in relational databases. This would include SSIS development.
      • The ability to establish or develop solutions related to software and setup errors.
      • Ensure technical skills are kept up-to-date in order to provide the most efficient support to corporate network customers.
      • Knowledge of customer service philosophies and the role of information management; computer hardware, software, programming languages, environments and related matters.
      • Detailed working knowledge of MS Windows, and other PC software and networking products and related terminology.
      • Ability to analyze and define the Associations’ needs, priorities, and problems to include the evaluation of hardware and software.
      • Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word; Excel; and Internet Explorer.

        MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

        • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive Farm Credit Services of America and Frontier Farm Credit information.Ability to demonstrate the Associations’ customer service philosophy.
        • Ability and willingness to work outside of normal and traditional hours and be on-call as needed.
        • Ability to remain current on technical skills through self-study, company-sponsored training and outside training/educational opportunities.
        • Ability to complete work in an acceptable time frame and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
        • Understands and uses computer technology related to carrying out essential responsibilities of the job. This includes reading the screen and keying/typing information.
        • Ability to respond to telephone and face-to-face conversations to serve customers and give and receive information form employees, vendors, outside consultants and the public.
        • Speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on technical subjects related to job.
        • Ability to travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
        • Ability to successfully interact with and represent the organization to employees, officers, board members, customers, vendors, and/or the public at all levels.
        • Provide sound technical advice to leaders and other employees in the subject field(s) related to this position.
        • Ability to understand and explain various subject matter and consulting concepts, programs, terminology, and methods.
        • Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and critique such information as written material, numerical data, responses to customer needs, and/or other related work activities.
