General Overview

The Financial Systems & Process Department aids in the completion of Financial Services (FS) business process improvement (BPI) initiatives and day to day support to achieve Secretariat and FS organizational goals.  This position is responsible for supporting Finance staff and should be seen as a partner with the business staff.  This position will work with the business to aid in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.    Support includes day-to-day troubleshooting, Business Improvement Proposals (BIPs), Business Process Improvement initiatives, small work products, enterprise projects and training as needed.  This position will also aid in drafting process flows and other documentation needed to support the business.


Specific Duties

  • As a member of the Finance product team, consult with any and all levels of the Finance team and others across the organization to identify opportunities for business process improvements and initiate process improvements based on meeting business objectives

  • As a member of the Finance product team, perform requirements gathering, project plan preparation, user acceptance testing plans, and documentation for projects within Finance;

  • Document new business processes and update or create existing business processes with participation from the business;

  • As a member of the Finance product team initiate and implement process and system changes that meet business objectives and adhere to release management best practices;

  • Investigate and troubleshoot requests for support that originate from internal and external customers of the Finance systems; work as a part of the product team to analyze issues, propose solutions and draft requirements;

  • As a member of the Finance product team prioritize and align BPI initiatives along with enterprise projects and day-to-day support according to the strategic objectives of the business and product team;

  • Provide functional expertise in the enhancement and support of existing applications;

  • Ensure the quality of all deliverables and documentation for assigned tasks;

  • As a member of the Finance product team communicate progress, issues and blockers to division and department managers as required;

  • Participate and provide subject matter expertise in cross departmental upgrades, enterprise projects and implementations across systems;

  • Coordinate the implementation of patches, fixes and upgrades for Finance applications via the standard testing path of Development, QA and Production

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills sufficient to recognize and detect business process issues and take the lead in getting the issue corrected and/or offer business process changes or other solutions that lead to a resolution

Budgetary Responsibility:

No direct responsibility.  This position will work on a team that ensures work is delivered on time and within budget.


Internal/External contacts

This position will interface with all positions associated with the product and project delivery models. This position will have a relationship with IT resources in Evanston and Pune as well as resources across other product delivery streams.  From time to time this position will work with external resources, consultants, developers, etc. to deliver specific work for the finance team.
