About theposition:

The primary focus of the Financial Systems and Business Analyst is to improve the flow of and access to financial and related data. The Analyst will manage the maintenance of the organization's financial systems, seek opportunities to streamline data flow and business processes, manage financial reporting, and facilitate the organizing of data to assist JFF with financial analysis and business process improvement.

The individual in this role will work with internal IT staff, external application developers, and end users to identify system weaknesses and opportunities for enhancements to current financial reporting systems, including the organizations accounting system and various budgeting tools. The Analyst has the opportunity to play a key role in ensuring JFFs financial systems set the organization up for continued impact and sustainability as it grows. The Analyst will report to the VP of Finance.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as accounting and financial system administrator (Microsoft Dynamics GP, Adaptive Insights, and custom add-ons)
  • Document and maintain various custom applications
  • Document data flows and strengthen and maintain data integration across systems
  • Maintain SQL Server and financial reports
  • Evaluate current and develop new financial reporting tools
  • Design reports, develop, maintain and enhance databases
  • Partner closely with the accounting and grants management teams as well as executive management with ad hoc projects as requested
  • Assist in relevant tasks related to financial reporting and analysis
  • Support organizational and project budgeting and analysis

Who you are:

  • You bring 5+ years of relevant work experience in financial systems administration
  • You bring a track record of success in maintaining and implementing financial software, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics GP, SQL Studio Reporting Services (SSRS), and/or SQL Server
  • You have experience leveraging budgeting software tools such as Adaptive Insights
  • You have experience organizing and reporting on data in accessible and easy to consume formats for a variety of audiences
  • You bring an attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking to your day to day work
  • You are proactive and resourceful; you take ownership of deliverables and consistently meet deadlines
  • You are conscious of data security and risk management, especially when operating with sensitive and confidential information
  • You are a curious and adaptive learner, with a willingness to take in new information, perspectives and data to inform your work; you have a proven record of rapid, independent learning and application of new technologies
  • You are highly motivated to function both independently and as a collaborative member of a cross-functional team
  • You are energized by leveraging your communication and relationship-building skills to develop partnerships across an organization in order to achieve results and support others to do their best work
  • You possess high energy and passion for JFFs mission with the ability to apply JFFs corevalues to all areas of your work
