About the role

The ideal candidate will provide financial planning and analysis (FP&A) support to OUPs Group Functions, and finance business partnering support to certain functions.
  • FP&A support includes working closely with and partnering with Group Functions, US and Canada Operations and Group Functions Directors to prepare and consolidate annual budgets and forecasts. Additionally, the role will be responsible for providing financial performance analysis for Group Functions, US and Canada Operations and management of the functions and US DPRF
  • Business Partnering support of Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Estates and Workplace and other centers of excellence, as needed

FP&A
  1. Assist with the financial budgeting and forecasting processes for Group Functions, ensuring complete, accurate and on-time production of financial information for Group finance and operational management.
  2. Develop and own phased financial budget & forecasting models which will drive more accurate forward-looking financials and improve financial control over forecasts.
  3. Responsible for month end processes within Group Functions, including preparation of accruals, cell phone monthly charge reporting and other reconciliations, which help ensure that the monthly reports to Senior Management contain reliable and accurate information.
  4. Follow up with Sarah: To use Oxford Purchase data in SAP and external vendor statements, as necessary, for monthly accruals reporting and invoice coding to ensure prompt processing and effectively deal with queries.
  5. Responsible for the preparation of analysis on variances to budget and forecasts, tracking historic accuracy and understanding issues. These activities help expectation setting, opportunity identification and opportunity execution planning through better data being made available to Group Function heads.
  6. Responsible for the monthly headcount analysis and input into the annual Establishment process with HR
  7. Support to the NA Finance Business Partner on the ad-hoc provision of data; and preparation of financial models (e.g. Return on Investment appraisals) to enable effective decision support, for example, cost saving opportunities, investment activities or process enhancements.

Business Partnering
  1. Provide Business Partnering support to Group Functions areas to enhance the understanding of financial performance and the use of financial data to support business decision making and ensure that forecasts/budgets reflect strategic planning/direction.
  2. Assist with the development of financial budgeting and forecasting processes for Group Functions to enhance financial control and support to strategy development, scenario planning and decision-making processes.

About you
  • Part Qualified Accountant or equivalent/Accounting, Finance or Business degree
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Senior stakeholder/business partnering experience
  • Experience of budget preparation and forecasting
  • SAP experience desirable
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment.
  • Position can be remote
