Responsible for the financial aspects with the outsourced service Provider of Lab Asset Maintenance Program, i.e. developing the yearly budgets collaborating with Amgen's FP&A staff, managing the multiple PO's and invoice management, and managing the financial reports required for good governance. In addition, will support the Expense activities for the Global Facilities Organization. Responsibilities include:
  • Developing the annual budgets with the ISP for each site
  • Managing financial reporting for all the GFO sites and Manufacturing sites for the outsourced contract
  • Disseminating cost information to the different Amgen Operational and FP&A staff to ensure that this cost is captured in their budgets
  • Coordinating the financial forecasting with the ISP and disseminating the forecasts to the Amgen FP&A staff
  • Generate and communicate the monthly updates to each site's Purchase Orders
  • Manage the financial contract obligations with respect to fees, incentives, savings pay-outs, etc.
  • Prepare and support complex modeling of contracts
  • Prepare quarterly budget / forecasts for Net Expense
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis and reconciliations including preparing quarterly accruals
  • Assist in the annual Assessment process
  • Interact with a wide range of leadership and site staff
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
  • Includes some travel


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Finance experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Finance experience

OR

Associate's degree & 10 years of Finance experience

OR

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters' degree in Finance
  • 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, project and change management
  • Knowledge and understanding of internal control framework, finance auditing
  • Facilities and operations experience in the Pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry
  • Self-starter with excellent project management, financial and operational skills
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), including the ability to effectively and confidentially interact with Amgen senior management
  • Flexible and ability to multitask, can easily adapt in environment whereby scope and can be removed added, divestiture and acquisition of properties
  • Conceptual problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, and SAP
