The Facilities Services Manager will manage and provide oversight for Integrated Service Provider portfolio within the Global Facilities Operations (GFO) organization and will report to the Director of Facilities, Global Facilities Operations. The position is responsible for supporting all areas of laboratory asset management, lab consumables, and supplier relationship management

This position will be the main contact with Amgen integrated service suppliers that support laboratory operations and processes.

This position will interact with all levels of the Engineering and Research and Development organization. In addition, they will:
  • Provide daily interface with service suppliers
  • Monitor and manage service level agreements and specific metrics and measures
  • Coordinate with the R&D organization on managing lab assets and work order processes
  • Provide planned updates to Engineering and R&D management on process performance and customer satisfaction measures
  • Manages and provides oversight for Integrated Service Provider portfolio within the Global Facilities Operations (GFO) organization.
  • Develops and oversees the site Lab Asset Maintenance Provider (LAMP) program in conjunction with the LAMP service provider.
  • Develops and oversees the site Lab Consumable and Support Services (LCSS) program in conjunction with LCSS service provider.
  • Identifies opportunities and synergies across for the site and the GFO portfolio related to the LAMP and LCSS programs.
  • Supports clients as a dedicated customer advocate and single point of accountability & contact for engineering services provided by GFO. Frequently interacts with clients' senior management and/or functional peer group managers.
  • Meets regularly with clients and translates client needs and initiatives into GFO and/or Engineering objectives, programs, and projects.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Safety and Compliance and holds Integrated Service Providers (ISP) accountable for Safety and Compliance
  • All work to be completed to assure minimal impact to production and compliance with all cGMP guidelines and Amgen procedures.
  • Partners with Compliance and Quality Assurance to ensure the facilities portfolio and operational practices are in alliance with the corporate compliance commitments.
  • Ensures Integrated Service Providers (ISP) deliver on scope of work and monitors service level agreements to ensure compliance. Provides consistent approach and escalation path for managing Integrated Service Providers.
  • Assists in developing benchmarking for facilities operational parameters, monitoring employee satisfaction with work environment, space-utilization, and risk management issues.
  • Assists in development of a long-range maintenance program and systems life cycle analysis.
  • Assists in developing, monitoring, and justifying the departments' budgets.
  • Assists with all changes in scope and CCR's for service providers
  • Provides site representation of all GFO activities for LAMP and LCSS at all Governance meetings
  • Leads or assists with all NC/ CAPA activities for all programs
  • Leads or assists with all GxP validation site activities for all programs
  • Assists with all operational excellence and innovation projects across all programs


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate Degree

OR

Master's Degree and 2 years of Engineering/Facilities Management experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of Engineering/Facilities Management experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Engineering/Facilities Management experience

OR

High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Engineering/Facilities Management experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in vendor management and managing outsource service providers
  • Strong technical knowledge in lab systems and knowledge of cGMP requirements as they relate to the lab environment
  • Experience working with regulated waste management, shipping and receiving operations, DOT/IATA
  • Familiarity with SAP and CMMS, ideally MAXIMO
  • Experience working in a lab environment with analytical equipment
  • Ability to build working relationships and effectively partner cross-functionally, cross-regionally and at all levels in the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to represent organization to all management levels
  • Proactive, self-starter with the ability to take on several projects at one time
  • Completed work is reviewed from a long-term perspective for desired results
  • Ability to lead diverse teams
  • Strong leadership, communications and teamwork skills
