100k Opportunities Initiative


 


National Philanthropic Trust is actively recruiting an Executive Director, for a fiscal sponsorship, with 100,000 Opportunities Initiative. Location is flexible, but preferred location is Seattle, WA.



About the Initiative: 


4.9 million Americans between 16 and 24 are out of school and not working. These young, motivated, and talented youth are a vital and untapped resource looking to fill millions of open roles. At the same time, employers often experience challenges effectively recruiting, training and retaining young workers.



The 100,000 Opportunities Initiative (100K) is the largest employer-led coalition focused on recruiting and retaining Opportunity Youth. In 2015, we established a vision to connect employers and Opportunity Youth with the goal of hiring 100,000 Opportunity Youth by 2018. The 100,000 Opportunities Initiative celebrated hiring 100,000 Opportunity Youth within its first year. The Coalition is now committed to reconnecting 1 million Opportunity Youth with jobs while also focusing on retention and other needs of our employers.





SCOPE OF WORK

The Executive Director will implement the vision of 100ks employer-led coalition and will work closely with the leaders of the Initiative, both member companies and the Advisory Board who set the strategy and goals for the coalition.



The Executive Directors scope includes:



  • Implement Coalition Vision, Strategy, and Goals. Facilitate member organizations and the Advisory Board in leading the Initiatives strategy in the areas of hiring, youth readiness, advocacy, communications, and improving employer practices

  • Coordinate Companies.  Amplify innovative approaches to hire OY at member companies at scale including events, partnerships, and activation of member companies individual hiring engines. Coordinate on national and local-market fairs.

  • Member Recruiting and Employer Engagement. Develop a comprehensive employer engagement program, including organizing employer meetings and calls, connections to partner organizations and learning opportunities. Support recruitment and onboarding of new member companies.

  • Advocacy. Partner with coalition leaders to establish and organize a clear policy and advocacy agenda.

  • Partnerships.  Establish collaborative and effective working relationships with a broad group of leaders across the opportunity youth and youth employment arenas to expand the impact of the 100,000 Opportunities  Initiative.

  • Communications. Coordinate with the Advisory Board and PR assets to implement the overall narrative and strategic communications. Represent the Initiative as a key, but not exclusive, spokesperson. Work with PR firm to leverage other important voices in the coalition and beyond.

  • Administration and Oversight. Oversee the Initiatives organizational needs, including operating budget, recruitment, supervision, and training other Initiative employees, reporting to the Advisory Board, and conducting Initiative reporting and analytics.   

  • Organizational Incorporation. Lead the Initiative in establishing governing documents as well as other necessary start-up administration including exploration as an official 501(c)3 or other appropriate tax-exempt organization.

  • Impact Measurement. Strengthen the Initiatives capacity to capture and communicate its social impact.





QUALIFICATIONS



  • Proven experience leading employer-led campaigns, coalitions, and/or organizations

  • 10+ years of experience work on employment strategies for OY, workforce development and or employment practices, corporate experience preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Exceptional strategic planning and organizational management skills, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation

  • Proven record building and maintaining strategic partnerships

  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations

  • Bachelors degree required, MBA or other relevant Masters Degree preferred 





COMPENSATION

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
