    Sodexo's Universities Segment is seeking an Executive Chef for Athletic Performance for their Sports & Leisure account at West Virginia University located in Morgantown, WV for all WVU athletic venues

    Love food?  Love Sports?  Sodexo is seeking an executive chef passionate about creating healthy and delicious food that maximizes athletic performance.  As a member of the Sodexo athletic performance team, you will work daily with your culinary team as well as West Virginia University athletes, coaches and trainers and the Sodexo registered dietitian for athletic performance. Outcomes of your job may include championships, but will certainly include being an integral part of a diverse and energized team; allowing athletes to perform better and feel better on and off the field; and driving team spirit through the creation of a healthy positive food environment.

     

    The West Virginia Mountaineers are the athletic teams that represent West Virginia University. The school is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I. The Mountaineers have been a member of the Big 12 Conference since 2012.

     

    The Executive Chef for Athletic Performance supervises and supports all aspects of food production including menu planning, recipe design, and food preparation at site locations to ensure client, customer, athletic satisfaction and site retention. Serves as culinary technical expert and trainer for other chefs. Implements business practices to uphold Company and University mission and values. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through the implementation of services and creation of opportunities for growth.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction for all aspects of food production to ensure account retention.
    • Fulfills contractual obligations to the client.
    • Plans menus including methods, timetables and costs to support client and Sodexo strategic plan.
    • Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery.
    • Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.
    • Works directly with sports dietitian to ensure all nutritional requirements are NCAA compliant for all levels of service
    • Provides personalized meal and snack plans to promote achieving short- and long-term goals for athletic performance and good health.
    • Helps Develop and support educational efforts.
    • Educates in food selection (grocery store tours, food storage) and food preparation (cooking classes)

    • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
    • previous experience working in a high volume facility; and
    • strong management skills.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    - Manages food & physical safety programs.
     

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

    Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

    Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
