    Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 3 for a high volume, 800 bed acute care hospital located in Allentown, PA.  In this lead culinary role, you will direct and participate in all of the food production operations for their full-service Cafe, multiple retail outlets, Catering and Patient Meal services utilizing "At Your Request" a specialty meal program.  Responsibilities will include:  menu planning, food and labor costing, inventory/purchasing, ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance, training, hands-on food preparation and supervision of 15 non-union Sodexo hourly associates. 

     

    The successful candidate will have at least 3-4 years lead culinary experience, a strong working knowledge of HACCP guidelines, the ability to lead and engage an hourly staff, computer literacy as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.  Prior culinary experience in a health-care setting would be a plus for this position.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    - Manages food & physical safety programs.
     

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

    Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

    Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
