    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 for Allina Health - Mercy Hospital, a 271 bed acute care facility located in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, a suburban community about 20 miles north of Minneapolis. 

     

    This Executive Chef works closely with the management team on food quality, menu development, customer relations, employee training/development, and creating an innovative dining experience. In this role, you will be part of a team directing and participating in all of the daily contract food operations for retail, catering and a Physician lounge food service.  This position will have direct responsibility for managing  a team of 20 union hourly front-line production staff.  The best qualified candidate will have a solid culinary background, experience controlling food and labor costs and knowledge of Health Touch, POS systems and food management systems.

     

    The department will be going through a complete remodel in 2018 resulting in new patient services and retail spaces.

    Position Summary

    Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. 
    Key Duties
    - Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 
    - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
    - Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
    - Manages catering & retail areas.
    - Customer & Client satisfaction.
    - Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
    -  Manages food & physical safety programs.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree 
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
