Overview

The Event Security Lead / Drone Pilot will oversee all aspects of the event security operation including management of event security staff on event and non-event, as well as operate and manage the Drone program. The person in this role will also train all security supervisors prior to events to ensure events run safely and efficiently. The operation of the drone must be following the Federal Aviation Administration’s Small Unmanned Aircraft (UAS) Part 107.



Responsibilities

  1. Operate the drone while not interfering with manned aircraft and be responsible of the drone program following the FAA safety guidelines.
  2. Prepare and present the small UAS for inspection or testing, and any associated documents/records required to be kept under the proposed rule upon request of the FAA.
  3. Conduct preflight inspections, to include specific aircraft and control station systems checks, to ensure safety before all flights.
  4. Respond to any guest safety and/or security issues in a timely manner and with the highest level of professionalism.
  5. Ensure all event security posts are properly staffed for all events at the AT&T Center and Toyota Field.
  6. Ensure staff respond to emergencies and non-emergencies calls, and incidents are properly reported and documented to the Security manager.
  7. Manage post-event activity staff such as ensuring the clearing of seating areas, concourses, and back offices.
  8. Conduct thorough event briefings with Supervisors and deploy staff as needed.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by Security Management.


Qualifications

  • Must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA within 30 days of being hired.
  • Must pass a recurrent knowledge test every two years, per FAA standards.
  • Must obtain and maintain a State Security license.
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory, management and/or leadership experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of security.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
  • Must have knowledge in the field of alarms, CCTV and security control systems.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of computer programs and software, such as Microsoft Suite.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of how to operate a walkthrough and handheld magnetometer, and training supervisors in this task.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, overnight and holidays.
  • Must comply with the minimum Event policy; Minimum of two events per week; for Rodeo, a minimum of three events per week.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods in extreme conditions.
  • Must possess the ability to meet our dress code standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Part 107 UAS Pilot Rating.
  • 100 Hours of Multi-Rotor UAS as Pilot in Command.
  • 1 Year of Commercial UAS Piloting Duties.
  • Strong experience with small rotorcraft drones; FAA Part 107 preferred but not required.
  • Experience with cameras, FPV, sensors and other applications of drones for commercial applications.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of technical experience, with strong general engineering knowledge including hardware, sensors, cameras and software.
  • Level II Non-Commissioned Security Guard License holder.
