    Sodexo is seeking an experienced Environmental Services / Custodial Operations Manager 2 for Holston Valley Medical Center hospital in Kingsport, Tennessee.  Holston Valley medical Center is a 400 bed hospital with a level 1 trauma center, Part of the Wellmont Health System. Largest hospital in the System. Average daily census 250 to 270, located in Northeast Tennessee. The ideal candidate will have previous successful track record management position within a hospital / healthcare setting. This position will be responsible for the day to day operations in our EVS department. 

     

    This housekeeping job will be responsible for the supervision of approximately 12 employees, training, and quality assurance in a fast pace healthcare setting. Candidate will have strong customer service skills, supervision and management of staff with planning and labor scheduling experience and capabilities, along with drive and being very dependable. The right candidate will be well experienced and fully capable of training in all areas of Sodexo’s environmental cleaning procedures, project cleaning, floor care maintenance and planning. Strong hands experience with cleaning processes and procedures along with ability to manage staff and ensure consistent quality of cleaning is being provided and maintained. Understanding and working experience with Service Depot, Trakkar, Gold Check, Kronos and So Safe is strongly desired. Minimum of 2 years hospital EVS experience.

     

    Hours for this position will be predominantly on day shift with rotating weekends and holiday coverage required

    The ideal candidate will have previous Environmental Services Management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting along with excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks. The candidate must have strong leadership experience as well as relationship-building skills.  A background in housekeeping or EVS environment is important, strong floor care experience needed.  The Custodial Manager will be required to participate in a rotational schedule involving rotating weekends and holidays.

    Position Summary

    Provides management oversight for Environmental Services exempt and non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Environmental Service programs are in place and functioning according to design to consistently meet all company, client and regulatory requirements.

    Key Duties
    -Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexho safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory and maintenance.

    -Assumes GM responsibilities and authority in his or her absence

    -Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring compliance to operating standards.

    -Ensures compliance with application of all Sodexo Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards within the contractually agreed upon scope of services.

    -Establish and/or adhere to defined operating standards, develops and implements quality improvements and ensures direct reports and staff adhere to the standards and expectations.

    -Assists with Management of Environmental Service budget by ensuring full compliance to established operating standards, monitoring costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, and material), and taking corrective action as needed.

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years of work experience in Housekeeping, Environmental or Custodial Services
