ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - DESIGN

Primarily responsible for both system level and detailed (circuit board level) design and integration requiring a solid overall knowledge of electrical/electronic design practices of Analog/Digital hardware circuits, measurement equipment and test techniques for analog and digital applications. Typical product examples may include handheld, body worn, man-portable and vehicular mounted devices. The scope of the position requires a range of responsibilities spanning requirements definition, conceptual trade studies, design/analysis/packaging of power, digital equipment, and integration activities. Electrical Engineers are responsible for participating in engineering analysis and evaluation efforts related to complex analog and digital hardware, documenting design approaches, establishing design verification and validation procedures, and developing plans to manufacture assemblies and major sub-assemblies. Electrical Engineers also design, assemble and maintain production test fixtures as required. To bring the designs to reality, Electrical Engineers will develop and maintain partnerships with suppliers and generate necessary requisitions for engineering project activities for which they are responsible. This position includes all phases of product development from advanced research and development through design and on to production support. Tasks will include development of component requirements, parts selection, addressing obsolescence issues and working closely with design engineering colleagues, supply chain, and quality control members of project teams Ideal candidates will show an ability to develop innovative solutions to challenging design constraints, a willingness to take on new systems and engineering designs, a drive to identify and mitigate possible downstream obstacles, and offer customers unique solutions allowing the team to maintain a competitive edge. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in the description above.
