Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing network programming strategies. We are seeking a strong leader, as you will act as liaison for the programming team with internal departments, as well as managing 1-2 direct reports. The right candidate will have solid understanding of scheduling and programming strategy and have insight into television viewer habits and media consumption patterns for the purposes of designing and implementing highly effective schedules.



Responsibilities

1. Develop scheduling strategy for all dayparts and manage episodic scheduling of channel on a quarterly basis, maximizing the utilization of our library of existing series and specials.
2. Act as primary liaison and manage schedule information flow via close partnerships with all key internal constituents, including Marketing, Production, Ad Sales, Communications, International and others.
3. Drive higher ratings by constantly building and sharing knowledge of ratings performance, monitoring competitive programming and schedules, and developing creative ways to exploit scheduling and programming tie-ins.
4. Evaluate network’s ratings performance on a daily basis, recommending changes when appropriate
5. Assist with long-term network planning to determine schedule direction and needs. Develop and maintain various network planning documents and contribute to finance and budget management
6. Manage the coordination of shared programs with sister networks
7. Collaborate on non-linear content strategy across various digital platforms
8. Create and deliver informative and engaging presentations for quarterly internal strategy meetings and other meetings, as needed
9. Collaborate with different business units regarding existing and future business/content systems to provide feedback for new system functionalities and advocate for departmental needs. Help develop and integrate business applications into day-to-day operations for increased efficiency to support overall network initiatives.
10. Manage and track program license expirations and license renewal evaluations of acquisitions
11. Manage day-to-day departmental functions to ensure all deadlines are met. Supervise 1-2 staff members; managing work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluating performance; and motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.



Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
* Minimum 8 years programming, production and/or program research experience, with 2+ years of managerial experience at a television and/or cable network
* Experience in non-fiction programming a plus
* Familiarity and passion for true crime content desired
* Significant experience in program/schedule performance analysis a must
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, along with comfort presenting to groups
* Strong managerial skills and ability to develop employee strengths for talent growth
* Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with inventory systems a plus.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
