POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Director in the Process Management Office acts as an organizational expert for a broad range of Strategic improvement initiatives, applying the tools of Lean Six Sigma to redesign processes to remove waste, and improve costs.

The Project Director plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe, and financial targets. Using statistical data and interviews, the Project Director makes recommendations for resources needed on the project team as well as the subject matter experts necessary to complete the project. The Project Director is responsible for collaborating with diverse clinical and non-clinical teams in order to identify opportunities for improvement, prioritization of opportunities, financial implications of opportunities, and future state models that meet both current industry best practice and organizational goals. The PD will use Lean Six Sigma tactics in all projects assigned, and effectively apply change management tactics within the workgroups assembled. The Project Director prepares ongoing project status updates for the PMO leader as well as the Steering Committee. The Project Director is responsible for the overall quality and management of major projects or programs.

The Project Director demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, as well as have strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. The Project Director demonstrates the ability to lead and manage complex projects, demonstrates excellent organizational skills as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Master's degree required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certified LSS Green Belt; Trained/Certified Black Belt preferred

EXPERIENCE: Business process reengineering experience is preferred. Minimum 7 years in leadership and/or patient safety environment with a focus on health care process improvements preferred. Working Knowledge of PDCA required. Knowledge of MS Office Suite and Visio is also required.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer for AtlantiCare.
