A typical day might include the following:


  • Asset and Liability Management
  • Responsible for managing balance sheet interest rate risk, related assessment processes, and risk mitigation strategy recommendations
  • Develops policy and is responsible for successfully implementing approved strategies
  • Acts as the direct manager of the FHLB San Francisco relationship and utilizes the Banks products for balance sheet management and income generation
  • Conducts and oversees internal and external interest rate risk assessment programs
  • Oversees the preparation and evolution of Management and Board ALCO report packages and committee meeting content
  • Assures that all ALM credit union efforts conform to NCUA regulatory and GAAP requirements
  • Responds to and resolves regulatory examination and internal/external findings and recommendations
  • Responsible for Real Estate Secondary Market returns on sales and risk management program


  • Investments
    • Responsible for investment portfolio management including, related policies, strategy development (in conjunction with the CFO). As such, is responsible for successful execution of approved investment strategy recommendations
    • Responsible for managing investment transaction process, procedures, controls and integrating, monitoring, and documenting investment selection strategy alignment
    • Assures adequate liquidity is always available to support credit union initiatives and prevent an illiquid position
    • Researches and prepares economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements
    • Directly responsible for assuring the investment portfolio and its contents conform to NCUA regulations and credit union policies
  • Other
    • Responsible for overseeing accuracy and integrity of finance and investment data in analyzing future plans and forecasts
    • Participates on the credit union's Asset Liability (ALCO), Budget, Lending, and Pricing Committees
    • Develop an understanding of Credit Union philosophy, organization, bylaws, and operational procedures and comply with the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, AML, OFAC and all other applicable State and Federal Financial Institution Regulations
    • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience we're looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, statistics or economics
  • Five or more years related finance and investment experience within a financial institution
  • MBA degree preferred

Candidates for this position will be required to sign an authorization for OneAZ to conduct a credit and criminal background check, pursuant to procedures in the Fair Credit Reporting Act and any other applicable laws.
