The Director, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) is responsible for development and execution of quality HEOR studies and related projects to support optimal reimbursement and access across diverse US healthcare segments including managed care, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and long-term care. Focus will be on delivering robust and compelling evidence demonstrating the clinical and economic value propositions for ACADIA products, successfully supporting business objectives. The Director, HEOR will be a strategic partner within the enterprise, contribute to strategies and plans, and execute on study and project related goals. The position reports to the Sr. Director of HEOR.

Here's an overview of the tasks and responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development, execution, and communication of HEOR strategies and tactics demonstrating the value proposition of ACADIA products.
  • Provide insights and support on the design and execution of HEOR studies and projects under the guidance of Sr. Director, HEOR.
  • Design and execute economic modeling activities that support ACADIA life cycle management needs such as budget impact, cost offset, and/or cost-effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the writing and review of HEOR studies including model descriptions, other related scientific documents such as AMCP Dossier, manuscripts, abstracts, and posters.
  • Analyze, organize, and synthesize retrospective claims and observational data, think critically, manage projects and vendors, and apply relevant statistical concepts to execute on studies and projects.
  • Demonstrate competency in review of HEOR protocols and Statistical Analysis Plan, study reports, and other HEOR study or project related documents to advance publication efforts.
  • Identify and understand HEOR data from published literature, meta-analysis and/or mixed treatment comparisons, and monitor and be able to apply current or future HEOR methodological practices.
  • Attend and present at HEOR conferences or similar scientific venues, internal meetings, and training sessions on HEOR studies and projects to educate and communicate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of HEOR deliverables and tools to leverage study and project results.
  • Partner with field medical teams supporting customer HEOR activities, being a subject matter expert.

PharmD, PhD, or equivalent doctorate level degree with experience or specialized training or degree in HEOR. Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical or related industry experience in primarily a HEOR role, with direct outcomes research experience preferred

Bonus points for:

  • Previous experience directly leading, designing, and managing field or HQ based HEOR studies
  • Experience in conducting research or analytics using large claims databases and registries in managed care, IDNs, or long-term care
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of managed markets, value proposition and health economics concepts, health technology assessment process, and the US healthcare dynamics
  • Experience in US based HTA submission materials such as AMCP Dossier, Budget Impact Models, or ICER
  • Research accomplishments as evidenced by a history of HEOR related publications
