The Townsend Group, a subsidiary of SmithBucklin, is looking for a Digital Ad Operations Specialist to join the team in Washington D.C. The Townsend Group specializes in national advertising, sponsorship and exhibit sales for associations. This is an exciting and challenging position for a detail-oriented individual with a keen interest in digital media and looking to take a leading role in an expanding segment of our business.

As the Digital Ad Operations Specialist your primary role on the team would be to have input on digital advertising campaigns by serving, targeting, optimizing, managing, and reporting on the performance and traffic of online, e-newsletter, webinar and other new digital media campaigns.

What You Will Do

  • Traffic and maintain digital advertising campaigns
  • Work with clients to implement new hmtl ad tags
  • Maintain regular communication with advertisers regarding upcoming deadlines and ad material collection
  • Monitor general metrics for clients' websites and digital products (e.g., e-newsletters, e-blasts and webinars)
  • Maintain and communicate technical specs to sales team, clients and agencies
  • Work with the sales team, their clients and 3rd party vendors to facilitate implementation of display and video ads
  • Monitor campaign performance to ensure full delivery while maximizing creative performance
  • Troubleshoot campaign issues
  • Proactively provide analysis into inventory availability to assist sales team in achieving maximum sales
  • Monitor requests from team members and coaching team members as needed
  • Plan digital marketing strategies for the organization and execute those strategies
  • Participate in client meetings on an as-needed basis
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Assist with various promotional efforts and creation of new digital revenue generating ideas for our clients
  • Keep on top of industry trends in online advertising and ad operations

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years digital advertising operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in digital advertising, publishing, advertising agency or similar industries
  • Experience with Retargeting ad campaigns
  • Ad trafficking experience with a major commercial ad serving platform, such as DFP, Atlas, Smart
  • Experience working in web analytics, data audience management, and other tracking/reporting platforms
  • Experience with HTML
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, JavaScript
  • Experience with ad tags and implementation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge on viewability and fraud
  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics or similar software
  • Familiarity with Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) standards and best practices
  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with programmatic advertising is a plus
