About the Position:

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a driven, highly organized individual to engage with colleagues across departments and at all levels of the organization to support funding pursuit and development operations in a leading national non-profit organization. The Development Coordinator serves as a critical point of coordination and operational support for JFF's Development team, program staff, and executive leadership, including the Associate Vice President for Development, the Senior Vice President (SVP), and the CEO. The Coordinator will be expected to collaborate closely with colleagues and contribute as needed to execute the Department's goals and deliverables.

What you'll do:

The principal duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Proposal Coordination. Proactively assist program, development, and fiscal staff with grant and contract pursuit processes, including project management of proposals, development of proposal elements and supporting materials, information-sharing, and coordination of JFF's internal review and approval process for funder submission.

Data Management. Manage Development's CRM and pipeline databases in Salesforce, including tracking organization-wide pursuit, developing standard and customized reports, performing regular data updates and quality reviews, and promoting organizational adoption of database best practices.

Funder Reporting. Coordinate the execution of funder reporting, including tracking and monitoring progress with program and fiscal teams, and ensuring that reports meet funder deadlines and specifications.

Prospect Research. Conduct research and other similar background information searches on potential institutional and corporate funders; prepare briefing materials for CEO/Senior VP outreach to funders and donors, synthesizing information from research, Salesforce, and JFF program teams.

Award Review and Processing. Coordinate review of grant/contract agreements; process gifts from donors; update databases and share information on award and gifts with Fiscal and other organizational services units.

Support for the SVP and the team. Provide occasional development-related support such as assisting with meeting setup, follow up, events, and special projects.

Who you are:

  • 2 or more years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills; able to work quickly and independently, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, initiative, and desire to get the job done right
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to maintain open and effective communication with staff at all levels across the organization, including senior leadership
  • Able to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong professional ethics; able to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Salesforce and in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Experience in nonprofits, grant processes, or development a plus
  • Occasionally requires work on nights or weekends in high-volume periods
