Overview

Responsible for developing new relationships and partnerships with third party originators in the eastern half of the United States. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting cold calls, developing presentations for meetings/demos, and training partners on products and solutions through webinars to achieve sales targets and goals. Accountable for the production of loans meeting UNFCU's guidelines through correspondent lenders and will be the primary point of contact for those lenders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with correspondent mortgage companies both bank-led and independent mortgage bankers
  • Serve as subject matter expert to ensure that correspondent clients understand UNFCU products, guidelines and procedures for submitting loans for underwriting, clearing conditions, and submitting documentation for final funding of correspondent loans
  • Build and cultivate relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications to move opportunities through the set up funnel
  • Effectively build and manage pipeline of opportunities to form new relationships and provide existing partners necessary support
  • Perform day to day time management and execution of all tasks and activities required through phone calls, emails, and appointments
  • Conduct 100% of interactions with partners using technology such as phone, email, live webinars/online meetings and/or video conferencing
  • Engage existing partner relationships to increase volume
  • Ensure that all activity standards for prospecting outbound calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and training needs are met to reach or exceed quotas
  • Find solutions to meet our partners' needs and uncover opportunities to generate new mortgage opportunities
  • Provide accurate forecasts and market intelligence to management
  • Become a subject matter expert of our products, guidelines, processes, solutions and related systems
  • Work directly with support/operations to address inquiries on existing opportunities and expedite partner related issues through verbal or written communications
  • Work with operations staff to ensure smooth onboarding of new correspondent clients.


Qualifications

TYPE & AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent experience; college degree preferred
  • Five years sales experience in mortgage lending
  • Experience as an account representative in the mortgage industry



TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Able to use Internet and CRMs such as Salesforce or other applicable software programs
  • Mastery of mortgage loan origination systems


BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
  • A professional appearance, willingness to work flexible hours and availability to meet with applicants outside traditional working hours
  • Excellent sales and service orientation with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's own schedule with basic direction and minimal supervision


WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office conditions


In addition to any specific job requirements in connection with Bank Secrecy Act and/or OFAC (BSA), employee must (i) be aware of BSA matters commensurate with the position; (ii) report any suspicious activity to the manager or compliance department; and (iii) satisfactorily complete any required BSA training.
