POSITION: Community ILS Practitioner /Mental Health Worker

TYPE: Full-Time and Part-Time available!

REQUIRED SHIFTS: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

WAGE RANGE: $15.50 per hour - $500 Sign On Bonus for Full Time Staff

LOCATION: Dakota County, Hennepin County, and Ramsey County


DESCRIPTION: Community based Mental Health Workers provide ILS services to individuals residing throughout an assigned county (vehicle required).The individuals who are served include persons with a diagnosis of a Mental Illness and/or Brain Injuries.

A Mental Health Worker's role will be working with participants in the following areas:

Communication skills

Community living and mobility

Interpersonal skills

Crisis Intervention

Skill development, symptom management, etc.

Promoting goal orientated person-centered services that enhance each person's progression to their desired goals.

Workers are required to work independently with program participants in their homes and in the community.


Applicants must be able to pass a Department of Human Services background check.

Applicants must be orientated in a person centered approach.

Applicants must be able to organize and work independently.

Applicants must have strong written and oral communications skills and must be able to document in an objective and effective manner.

Applicants must have a valid drivers license and have a satisfactory driving record.

Applicants must have a working vehicle with auto insurance which is valid.

Applicants must be able to lift 40 lbs or more.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of experience working with persons with Mental Illness diagnoses, CD Histories, Brain Injuries, or Developmental Disability diagnoses in direct care setting, case management setting, therapy setting, or another human services setting.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School or equivalent.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or another Human Services related field. MA in related field and/or license (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT) also a plus!
