POSITION: Communications Program Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Communications

SECTION: External Relations

STATUS: Exempt

Catholic Legal Immigration Network Inc., or CLINIC, is seeking a program manager to oversee large- and small-scale communications projects for a variety of public, member and other stakeholder audiences.

The position calls for managing a wide range of communications projects for multiple sections of the organization that are supported by External Relations. These include but are not limited to: advancement materials/; public and technical reports, quarterly and annual reports; legal training materials; marketing/branding materials; web page content; press releases; social media campaigns; and other types of outreach materials.

It also involves developing and maintaining relationships internally and with partner organizations and news media and planning/preparing materials needed for meetings and conferences, including the annual CLINIC Convening. This is a full-time post in a department that works closely on all external communications for a fast-paced, nationwide nonprofit organization with a staff of 70.


-- Bachelors degree or equivalent training in journalism, marketing, communications, business administration or related fields.

-- Two to five years experience in program or project management/supervising projects

-- Strong writing and editing skills

-- Excellent organizational and time management skills

-- Creative thinker with excellent multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment with overlapping needs and deadlines

-- Strong collaborative skills and a team player

-- Experience managing outreach campaigns, including social media

-- Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign or similar graphic design platforms

-- Experience with and ability to manage a variety of social media platforms

-- Experience with email marketing platforms, such as MailChimp

-- Commitment to social justice work (can be in a professional or personal capacity)


-- Media relations experience

-- Familiarity with immigration law

-- Thorough understanding of Catholic social teaching on immigration, church structure and practices

-- Advanced degree in communications, writing or journalism

-- Bilingual

-- One or more years supervisory experience
