About the position:

This position will support an active Marketing Communications department that produces a wide range of print and digital content. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for partnering with program teams, managing the delivery of high quality materials - regardless of format and channel - that begin with developing the strategic concepts to support and advance the goals of the JFFs mission and result in high quality, on time, and on budget execution.

The Communications team is looking for an experienced, energetic, and project management professional to support and further elevate JFFs brand. The position requires working in close collaboration and coordination with a highly focused, high functioning team of professionals. Strong project management, the ability to prioritize and exercise excellent judgment, keen attention to detail, take initiative, and the ability to act independently are required skills for this position.

What you'll do:

The principal duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage communications projects across JFF that support the organization's strategic priorities, including maintaining feedback loops, timelines, brand relevance, design, and input to move projects forward
    • This will include working with editorial, design, and digital team members
  • Work with Director of Marketing Communications to ensure quality assurance procedures are fulfilled across the team
  • Contribute to process improvement for the Marketing Communications and Program team alignment
  • Help lead the organization toward a digital first communications approach and work with the Director of Marketing Communications, and fellow team members, to provide and elicit creative ideas for earned, owned, and paid media
  • Build measurement and analytics into regular reporting of deliverables effectiveness against JFF goal of building influence and impact
  • Manage expectations for deliverables and foster clear communications between programs, leadership and the Communications team, considering external partners such as funders, vendors, and external audiences. Lead with iterative communications to minimize unnecessary surprises

Who you are:

  • Belief in JFF's core values and ability to apply those values to all areas of your work
  • Detailed oriented, with strong project management and prioritization skills
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in project management
  • Experience in communications and/or marketing
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CMS, and Workfront (or other project management platforms) a plus
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and with impact
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Solid internet and digital communications skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience marketing communications in education or closely related fields
  • Excellent professional judgment with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to be part of a complex, highly collaborative team that calls for flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work in fast-paced environment, where you feel comfortable taking initiative
  • A sense of humor is a plus
