The College of Education invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Educational Technology and Literacy.


Qualifications Required:

An earned doctorate (degree completed by December 2018) from an accredited university in Instructional Technology or related field. Present a commitment to higher education via evidence of successful university and K-12 public school teaching experience. A strong research background related to the field of Instructional Technology and potential for external funding are preferred. An ideal candidate should present active scholarly productivity and a commitment to professional development.


Qualification Preferred:

Demonstrate a strong commitment and potential to research and teaching in the area of instructional technology. Preferred qualifications include experiences in:

  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Instructional Technology field

  • Teaching in online or hybrid learning environments

  • Advising masters and/or doctoral student research

  • Conducting and publishing research related to Instructional Technology and related fields

  • Seeking and obtaining external funded grants.



Teach six (6) course units for the first year, and then the years following would be eight (8) units per year (with one unit for research scholarship). Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Instructional Design and Educational Technology, conduct research in the field of Instructional Technology, participate in program, department, college and university governance, and provide service to the field and profession at local, state and national levels.
