The College of Education invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Special Education beginning August 2020. It is located at the main campus and satellite offices, with the possibility of teaching at the regional higher education centers.


Minimum Qualifications:
• All candidates must have an earned terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Special Education,          Teacher Education, or a closely related field)
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experiences with K-12 students with ASD and their families
• Teaching and/or supervising experience at the college/university level
• Excellent communication, human relations, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated literacy in educational technology
• Evidence of scholarly potential; including successful grant awards


Preferred Qualifications:
• Extensive experience with students with ASD and their families
• Experience in grant writing and management; technology/UDL; on-line course development; and coaching for fidelity of implementation of evidence-based practices



Responsibilities may include teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs in special education, including the Master of Education (M.Ed.) Teacher as Leader in Autism Spectrum Disorders program. This position may include outreach to the community and local school systems; recruitment of students and student advising; and/or administration in department programs and grants. Additional responsibilities include engaging in external and internal service activities and scholarly activities.
